The Hoboken Historical Museum (est. 1986) collects and displays artifacts in themed exhibitions on Hoboken and New Jersey history and offers educational programs, lectures, tours and hosts films, plays, art exhibitions and poetry/spoken word events. We are a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The Hoboken Historical Museum advances the understanding and exploration of Hoboken and New Jersey history, culture, and architecture. The Hoboken Museum, through its Poet in Residence (Danny Shot) sponsors a series of poetry and spoken word events. Over the past couple of years spoken word/poetry events honoring Marsha P. Johnson, Richard Bruce Nugent, Edward Abbey, Allen Ginsberg, NJ Immigrant Poets, Red Kalyna: Poetry for Ukraine, Batter Up: The Poetry of Baseball, Broken English Dreams: A Celebration of Pedro Pietri, among others. Hoboken has a core of poets, called HOBO(ken) POETS who often share their work at the Museum
